Quanta Energy has completed the construction of a photovoltaic farm for Pfeifer & Langen Polska. The sugar producer is progressively reducing the environmental impact of its operations. The largest sugar factory in Central and Eastern Europe now boasts a 3 MW solar installation.

The photovoltaic farm spans an area of 3,86 hectares and consists of over 5,200 modules, each with a capacity of 575 W. „We are extremely proud of our collaboration with Pfeifer & Langen Polska. The construction of this photovoltaic installation is not just another project in our portfolio but but a clear example of the fact that all industrial sectors can effectively decarbonize their processes. Our role was to deliver a comprehensive solution that not only generates clean energy but also optimizes production costs,” said Michał Krysiński, Technical Director for Business Development at Quanta Energy.

The solar installation will not only reduce CO2 emissions but also generate significant savings. The annual energy production from the installation could power approximately 1 600 households for 365 days or charge nearly 43 000 mid-range electric vehicles.

Pfeifer & Langen Polska, which has been actively pursuing sustainable development for years, highlights that the photovoltaic installation built by Quanta Energy is another step towards reducing CO2 emissions. Interestingly, among all agricultural crops grown in Poland, sugar beets absorb and assimilate the most carbon dioxide per unit area and produce the highest amount of oxygen.
